Beddinghouse x Van Gogh Museum Plum Blossoms Throw Pillow - Sand

Bedding House is proud to be an official partner of the Van Gogh Museum Amsterdam. The unique collaboration between the Van Gogh Museum and Bedding House results in, among other collections, a very decorative pillow collection. Each design is inspired by one of Vincent van Gogh's paintings. The inspiration for this season's products comes from the time when Vincent was inspired by Eastern art. Japanese printmaking was one of Vincent's greatest sources of inspiration. The design is based on the painting Plum Garden in Bloom. Vincent had many Japanese prints in his collection and spoke of "hundreds" in his letters. He practiced the use of color and the style of Japanese artists by making paintings based on these prints. Vincent chose Utagawa Hiroshige's The Plum Tree Teahouse at Kameido for his first print. He copied the composition directly but applied the colors much more heavily. He swapped the black and gray of the tree trunk for reds and blues. Additionally, he added two orange trims with the Japanese characters for an exotic effect. In this design, the blossom branches of the painting are beautifully highlighted and worked into an all-over pattern. The background is creamy white, subtly showing Vincent's bold brushstrokes.

High quality The Plum Blossoms decorative cushion is made of 100% polyester velvet. The cushion size is 40 x 60 and the cushion comes with an elastic inner cushion made of pure polyester. It is not machine washable and cannot be tumble dried.
